In partnership with Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation, Inc., the Extension Services Division (ESD) organized a project impact assessment of “Oplan Balik Paaralan” (OBP) Program at Jade Energetic Paradise and Adventure Corp., Badiangan, Iloilo on October 7 and 8.

This two-day activity aimed to evaluate the impact of the program to its beneficiaries, as well as to allow coordinators to exchange ideas for effective and efficient implementation of OBP Program’s goals and objectives.

Spearheaded by ESD Director Dr. Adrienne D. Veloso, in coordination with the university Gender and Development (GAD) Director Ms. Emily A. Dela Cruz, the event also re-oriented ERDA coordinators on policies and guidelines, and identified different issues and concerns of coordinators in the above-mentioned program’s implementation through a focused group discussion which was conducted separately in two groups: parents and educators.

ERDA Foundation Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization which has been helping the poor but deserving Filipino children to have access to education by providing them school uniforms, school supplies, and other academic-related necessities such as payment for miscellaneous fees.

At present, a total of 400 students are ERDA beneficiaries–consisting of 398 elementary, junior and senior high school students, and two college students who are currently enrolled in ISAT U–from its partner schools and communities in Iloilo City and Iloilo province.
