ISAT U 111th Foundation Anniversary kicked  off with a thanksgiving mass held at 1:00 P.M. at the university covered gym.

Rev. Fr. Paul Talavera officiated the mass and in his homily read the passage from the Gospel of Luke which talked on the cost of being a good disciple. In his sermon, Fr. Talavera pointed out that the best measure for the success of a school or a university is neither the number of employees nor the degrees or title they are holding nor the number of years it has existed but its relevance to the society.Picture2

Right after the Thanksgiving Mass,  a motorcade around Iloilo City followed and ended at SM City where the Project Runway 2016 Contest was held. Project Runway 2016 is an initiative of the Fashion and Apparel Department and participated in by selected students taking up Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design and Marketing and Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Apparel Technology. The contest featured the “Festivals of Panay” inspired collections.

 September 5, 2016

The opening day of the Foundation Anniversary proved to be memorable, significant and full of inspiration despite the heavy rain that showered the university campus.

Students, faculty and staff braved the early morning drizzle as they went on with the foot parade from La Paz Plaza to the school grounds. The ISAT U community withstood the unpredictability of the weather to attend the opening program at the university open field.

Dr. Asusina Asuncion Echaveria, Dean, College of Education, welcomed everyone by flashing back the school’s transition from a simple technical school to a university and as a leading technological and manpower institution in the region and in the country.  The University is also envisioned  as a leading science and technology university in Southeast Asia by 2030. Dr. Echaveria said that “excellence is not an end in itself but a start of a very turbulent and a challenging journey.” She stressed that excellence is not an act but a habit.
