After garnering an impressive total of 158 medals, Western Visayas clinched first runner-up in the National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Games. The sports competition, held in Mambajao, Camiguin from April 23 to 27, 2025, marked a historic milestone for the team, as it was their first time placing second after years of participation.

The Western Visayas team played with determination and skill, finishing with 58 gold, 52 silver, and 48 bronze medals. This remarkable performance earned widespread acclaim from universities and colleges across the region. Dr. Leomar de los Santos, ISAT U Sports Director, expressed pride in the team’s achievement and extended his gratitude to the athletes, coaches, and coordinators.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the athletes’ hard work and the guidance of our dedicated coaches and coordinators from day one. This win will motivate us to continue what we have started,” he said.

The National Capital Region emerged as overall champion with 272 medals, while Region 3 placed third with 181 medals. The National SCUAA Games 2025 was hosted by Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC) in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Camiguin.
