The Laboratory High School students shone in the 28th Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) National Assembly of High School Students and 21st YMCA National High School Club Advisers Seminar held on December 10-13, 2016 at the Senior Mess Hall Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City.

Mark Angelo Aguado and Carlo Panistante earned the trust of their fellow delegates and were elected as YMCA Marshals.

The students also displayed their excellence in the literary-musical presentation. Aguado and Milisa Joy Jacaba emerged Champion in the Ballroom Dancing. Jacaba also landed in the Third Place of Talentadong “Y” Individual Category contest. Meanwhile, Kenneth John Padernal topped the Essay Writing Contest (Filipino Category).

The delegates continued to reap honors in the 54th National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute (NRYLI) which was held at the same venue on Dec. 14-17 after the YMCA Assembly.

Two participants were given citations for their active participation which enhanced the documentation of the proceedings of the leadership congress. Shiela Muya (Writer/News Editor) and Ruemmel James Sollesta (Cartoonist) were recognized for the on time publishing of The Leader, the NRYLI Publication.  Muya was also one of the Top Ten Finalist in the Lakambini ng YMCA. Another Lab School stand out was Eden Mae Villarete who won third place in the YMCA Recycled Art, and  First Placer in the NRYLI Commission 7 Makabayang SAYAWITAN contest.
