Western Visayas College of Science and Technology in its goal to support and strengthen government programs on science and technology, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office 6 on December 17, 2013.

In this agreement, WVCST also signified its intention to run the food and innovation center at WVCIERD (Western Visayas Consortium on Industry and Energy Research and Development) sponsored by DOST.

This food and innovation center is a Php 9 Million project that will start on the first quarter of 2014. It will be accepting testing and processing of food products in Region 6. Part of it will also be placed in WVCST to accommodate more clients for better service.

The MOA signing was headed by DOST Regional Office 6 Asst Director Dr. Emelyn P. Flores and Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr., Presidnt, WVCST and witnessed by some representatives of DOST together with Dr. Carmelo V. Ambut, VP for Research and Extension of the College.
