BLT holds recognition, year-end assessment

The Busog, Lusog, Talino (BLT) of Western Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST)- Extension Services Division (ESD) in partnership with Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF) held a year-end assessment and recognition activity for the school year 2014-2015 on April 28, 2015.

Conducted at the EdTech center, the year- end activities highlighted the accomplishments of 81 BLT school coordinators, teachers and principals of different schools in the city and province of Iloilo benefited by the BLT program of WVCST-ESD and JGF.

During the year-end evaluation, Engr. Corazon Corbal, Head of the WVCST-ESD, reported that after 120 days of BLT program implementation, the percentage of the children who had normal weight rose from 0 to 75 percent as set for school year 2014-2015.

The BLT participating schools, their principals and coordinators were also recognized during the program. Gerongan Elementary School was chosen as the best BLT parent group; Bantegui Elementary School, best BLT bulletin, most disciplined pupils, best BLT table setting and the best school champion; Maasin Municipality, best in report submission award; MV Hechanova Elementary School, best BLT school champion in the City/ Dumarao category; and Dumarao Central School, best in poster receiving Php 1,500 as cash prize.
